Origin and terroir The grapes originate from the single vineyard "Fuchaberg". This southeast-facing vineyard site is located in the southern Kremstal. The soil of this site is characterized by loess and barren weathered rock with high lime content in the subsoil. This vineyard is particularly suitable for strong Burgundy varieties due to its warm soil and the climatic influences of the Pannonian climate from the east and a perfect air circulation. Vinification The grapes were picked carefully at full physiological ripeness. The healthy grape material was destemmed and pressed without maceration time. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled steel tanks. In the end of the fermentation, the wine was racked to big wooden barrels to give the wine the opportunity to develop its full aroma on the fine lees before bottling. Tasting notes Medium yellow in the glass, flavor of tropical fruits in the nose, very complex and powerful on the palate; quite substantial, a convincingly long and spicy finish with small hints of tobacco. Drink and meal recommendation This wine is perfect to accompany savory dishes. It is also a nice companion to creamy veal and pork dishes, goose or venison.
